Wax Lips Theatre Company
 
Not-for-profit Chicago theatre company formed as Sleeping Dog Theatre Company in January, 1994 by John Corwin, Brendan Hunt, and Carla DeLio (three Illinois State University theatre graduates). Devoted to the exposure of lesser known original works, productions have included four by Corwin (Happy New Year... SkinnyGuy, Slim Just Left Town, Navy Pier, and What Does That Mean, as well as Howard Korder's Boys' Life.

Of the 8-member company, the Chicago Reader says, Many young theatre companies make the mistake of burying their productions in excess. But Wax Lips, in its fourth show, hits all the bases with simple yet solid acting, direction and technical design."

The Chicago Sun-Times, which gave Navy Pier a Highly Recommended rating, says "Wax Lips Theatre Company proves what a profound experience four actors can create by allowing an engrossing, impeccably structured story to unfold..."
