| TeenStreet Theater, cited as a model program for at-risk youth by the President's Commission on the Arts and Humanities, has employed 43 low-income teens during the summer of 1998 in four companies, creating and performing free original shows for over 5000 kids in Chicago Parks Day Camps. They've also received consecutive National Endowment for the Arts grants for the creation and presentation of new works. Through workshops in writing, theater, music, and dance, Free Street develops performances and performing companies that educate and motivate participants on both sides of the stage to address the issues and aspirations of their communities.
