| Wanna make movies, but can't afford to go to film school? Get in touch with Chicago Filmmakers. They're Chicago's alternative to the expensive, time-consuming road through college. Chicago Filmmakers offer classes in every facet of film production (even screenwriting), as well as a gamut of their other perks such as cost-efficient equipment rentals. For an annual $50 membership fee you can get in on their low-cost equipment rental after you've taken a class. Started up 25 years ago by students from the School of the Art Institute, Chicago Filmmakers also holds weekly screenings of experimental indie flicks, a series called "Kino Eye Cinema". Check out their website for more details. Also, don't forget to check out their 2-day feature film school seminar, "Hollywood Institutes" held in March and their annual "Reeling: The Chicago Lesbian and Gay International Film Festival." 1543 W. Division Chicago, IL 60622 PH: (773) 384-5533 FX: (773) 384-5532
