Chicago Film Office

Although they're often confused with their state-run counterpart, The Illinois Film Office, the Chicago Film Office does work closely to help accommodate the filmmakers who the IFO draws to Chicago. They name to remember here is Rick Moskel -- he's the top guy and his boss is the Mayor. If you're planning to shoot a flick in the Windy City , be sure to let the CFO know. It's their job to help everyone get paid for it, so utilize their contacts and expertise. If there's one thing the CFO wants you to know is that they're not just here for the Hollywood heavy hitters that breeze through town; they want to help the little guys too! The Chicago Film Office also supports local screenwriters by sponsoring the biannual I/C Screenwriting Competition in conjunction with the IFO. All submissions for the contest must be from Illinois residents, and at least 75% of the script must be set in-state. Last year's winners were honored in October 1998 at a special ceremony at Chicago's Planet Hollywood.
