| Founded in 1976, the only professional non-profit African-American theater company on the North Side has produced nearly 100 plays, providing jobs for African-American artists and presenting professional theater to people of all colors and creeds. One of their special emphases is training and inspiring underprivileged youth. Many of their shows -- for example Ain't That Lovin' You Baby (The Jimmy Reed Story), Muddy Waters, and The Otis Redding Story -- are biographies of black artists and musicians.
