| Founded in 1982, The Bailiwick presents "new twists on old classics as well as the best of contemporary theater," and are particularly known for their annual gay and lesbian theatre festival. Over the years, they've performed at the Theatre Building, the Beacon Street Theatre, Cabaret Metro, Jane Addams Center, and eventually moved into their own space on Belmont. Notable past productions have included Animal Farm, Count of Monte Cristo, Incorruptible, Ourselves Alone, & Nebraska. During the 1998/9 season, Shopping and Fucking was Jeff nominated, and A Month in the Country came away with a Jeff Citation for Set Design.
