Add this Will County jewel to the crown of Chicagoland golf. Designed by Dick Nugent, Heritage Bluffs has received innumerable accolades and awards since its opening in 1993. Molded out of the gently rolling farmland of Channahon, the course features a true feast of hole designs and views. Beginning in the flatlands, the front nine wends its way through mogul fields and strategic bunkers, flows through a wooded valley you would swear is North Carolina, then finishes back in the moguled flatlands. The back nine begins with the dramatic 10th hole, a par 4 downhill setup with swampland to the left and trees to the right. The course then opens up into the mogul fields and ends with the par 4 18th, another encounter with the bog and an uphill journey to a blind green. Along the way, challenging par 4s make for a true shotmaker's delight. The key to playing the course is choosing the correct tee box from the four available choices. The course plays very long from the golds at 7,106 yards. An excellent practice facility, tasty sandwiches, and a unique and well-crafted scorecard (it includes a good yardage chart) add to the amenities and help make Heritage Bluffs one of our favorite Chicagoland tracks. well worth the drive.
