Plenty of endurance, a big drive and feather-light touch with the putter are necessary for scoring well at Big Run. Like its name, this extremely hilly layout plays long and requires some big approach shots to reach the often severely sloped greens. Mature trees line several fairways and some of the tighter holes are simply tough as leather. The par 5, 9th is possibly the most difficult par 5 in the area. At 610 yards from the tips, this hole is narrow, extremely tilted and requires a long, blind approach shot to a tiered green. And to create true closure, the par 5, 18th is a backbreaking, uphill climb to reach the green. This course is tough on golfers who are not hitting well, but the picturesque views offered throughout the course will lighten the heart of even the most downtrodden golfer.
