Although the not-so-hot ambiance doesn't do much to help its cause, one thing's for sure—this Lincoln Square coffee shop makes one damn good croissant. These breakfast delights come buttery, flaky and chock-full of warm and gooey fillings. Washing them down with an Illy coffee, an especially delicious Italian espresso, that comes with a free flavor shot tastes almost as good.
The cafe overcomes the unremarkable decor with a homey vibe and off-beat soundtrack of French hip-hop and R&B. Peruse the Sunday Trib or the smattering of complimentary magazines at one of the small coffee tables or sit down with your laptop to use the shop's free wireless.
Find an assortment of pastries and various other edibles (we recommend the quiche), but trust us when we say, it's all about the croissants. They're so good, in fact, that other businesses in the area often buy them and sell them in their own stores at a mark-up. So get 'em here while they're cheap and hot.
