The 32-seater features the culinary creations of chef/owner Jon Cignarale, who previously did work at Tweet, Karyn's Cooked and M. Henry. It's a breakfast resume that almost guarantees you'll leave happy, and based on the weekend wait, that seems a pretty accurate assumption.
The egg theme is played to the hilt, but stops just short of moan-worthy. You'll find eggs strung from the ceiling, eggs on the menus and a single wooden egg on each table that holds Over Easy's business card (always a nice nod to the chef). As is the case with most cutie and in-demand breakfast spots, expect to pay a little extra for the atmosphere. Two plain ol' eggs with toast and hash costs $6.
But don't expect to see too many people sticking with fried eggs. The menu features Cracked Eggs (like a ham, swiss and chive omelet), Eggs & Flour (with the much-served upside down apple pancake) and Eggs & Cream (get a load of the banana-spiked French toast, layered with banana cream, sliced bananas, rum-caramel sauce and candied pecans).
Ladies who lunch will find salads (add chicken or jerk tofu), sandwiches like a Vietnamese pate creation, and regular, turkey and veggie burgers. There's a fresh soup daily, along with equally appealing specials.
