Though the sign still reads New Hong Kong Bakery, this sliver of bakery goodness in the heart of Argyle Street now goes by La Patisserie P. Don't be fooled, though. It's still Asian-style to the core. You'll find the bakery standards as well as some unusual goods. Here cookies, tiramisu, carrot cakes and various breads sit next to steamed buns filled with shu mai or BBQ pork. For the brunch enthusiast or the snack seeker, there are ham & egg buns, which are essentially overgrown dinner rolls that house thick slices of ham and a layer of egg. Stop by late in the day when the "nearly expired" go on sale.
