Every rose has its thorn and every community has its sweet tooth; Devon Avenue is no exception. King Sweet certainly coddles the more sinful pleasures of the palette. With a full assortment of colorful treats ranging from the pistachio green to pink-and-white checkered, from dairy to non-dairy specialties, and from delightfully sweet to sugar-free, King Sweets has something for everyone.
It even has a lunch and dinner menu, with standard options like chicken makhani (butter chicken) and aalo palak (a potato, spinach and tomato dish). Sweets’ prices are great; the $4.99 lunch special is pretty much an all-inclusive deal. Treat yourself to a fresh carrot, orange or watermelon juice to wash everything down. Despite King Sweets' cafeteria setup, it doesn't possess the institutional feel that haunts other similarly arranged spaces. While many of Devon's restaurants tend toward a more purist aesthetic, this place has green walls adorned with vivid photographs.
