Do you interpret the phrase "30-minute meals" as "30 minutes too many in the kitchen?" If you leave work starving for a classy feast yet can't bear the thought of preparing that very meal, Bonsoiree is the place for you. After more than 12 years in the food business, owner Kurt Chenier and chef/owner
Shin Thompson decided to open a business of their own. You owe them a thank you. Now you can eat top-notch-restaurant-quality food in your La-Z-Boy.
If Bonsoiree has anything, it has options. Dine in the cozy, 20-seat space and pick a dish that tastes like a million bucks but won't cost you nearly as much. In the warmer months, rest your laurels at the outdoor patio. Lunch offers a selection of sandwiches with a French twist. Try the grilled chicken and portabellas, fresh mozz, baby frisse and warm red pepper coulis on a warm brioche bun. Yum. The sit-down dinner offers both entrees and salads that average $15. Expect several hearty meat dishes, a veggie option, a soup and a salad. Don't want to order from the menu? Take your pick from the cold carry-out case, which serves up pasta salads, meat, and roasted veggies, among others. Bonsoiree also serves up a weekend brunch.
Other goodies include free wi-fi, a hefty catering service, at-home meal preparation by the owners themselves and a mysterious program Chenier calls "Underground Restaurants." Here's the scoop: Go to Bonsoiree and add yourself to an email list. In time, you'll receive an evite for a Saturday night dining extravaganza. If you're one of the first 20 to respond, you and 19 other lucky ones can get on over to Bonsoiree, mingle and eat your hearts out (for a price). It's a prix fixe menu, BYO and, most importantly, it's on the down low. You'll have to go to Bonsoiree to find out more.
