Although at first glance it seems difficult to differentiate between Devon's never-ending Indian restaurants, a closer examination reveals that each eatery occupies its own niche. If you’re seeking a vegetarian buffet offering familiar fare, look no further than Arya Bhavan.
Be prepared to eat a lot of the same at the buffet, as a slender 10 choices covering everything from appetizer to dessert. Some knowledge of Indian food is helpful, as the spread has no labels or indication of ingredients. Unlike most of the surrounding restaurants, which offer buffet specials on select days of the week, Arya Bhavan offers a lunch and dinner buffet daily. If you opt for ordering off the menu, try one of the thali specials, small portions of up to 10 dishes native to various regions of India ($12.99).
If you’re craving the food but don’t want to make the trek, take advantage of its delivery option. There’s a minimum $35 order, and you must live between Howard and Armitage and east of Cicero. Also, if you’re stopping in to pick up a quick meal, know that there’s a minimum $10 credit card charge.
