More than 100 years old, the School of the Art Institute offers undergraduate and graduate programs dealing with art history, art criticism and art practice. Courses cover everything from fashion design, fiber and material studies, film and new media studies to classic sculpting, painting and art therapy. In addition to the classes offered to the university students, the school offers various workshops to adults and kids interested in taking a stab at something like fashion design for a few weeks; during the summer, folks have the opportunity to learn from artists-in-residence and faculty members at the school's paradise of a summer camp, Ox-Bow, located in Saugatuck, Michigan.
