This 6'5" black schizophrenic, adopted by Wicker Park circles, achieved 15+ seconds of fame in the early '90s, including a glossy write-up in Entertainment Weekly. Though he's no longer the ubiquitous presence he once was, he's still musically active, recently releasing a new album, Dead End Street on Belgua. He's been touring -- over 100 shows in the past half year on the East & West coasts, and in the South -- and also contributed a track to the new Beluga... On the Rocks 3 compilation.

A few minutes later you bump into him again. "Y'wanna buy a CD?". He and his band, The Fiasco, appear in Scott Petersen's film Out of the Loop, which documents the Chicago indie rock scene and have opened concerts for the likes of Pearl Jam. Willis passed away in 2003.
