| Vertikal is a local hip-hop/funk/soul fusion band founded by guitarist Anthony Allamandola. Raphael Crawford (trombone and keys), Tobias Kaemmerer (trumpet), Anthony Bruno (saxophone), Ronald Monroe Jr. (turntables) Lorin Cohen (bass), Justin Boyd (drums), Stacy Rene (vocals) and Ben Butter (vocals) join Allamandola to blend the sounds of hip-hop’s past and present into one cohesive set that would make even the Mizell brothers nod in approval. Drawing from Chicago’s diverse fanbase, Vertikal uses its range of musical influences to appeal to anyone from funk enthusiast to hip-hop fanatic. They’ll be performing on the last Wednesday of every month at the music friendly Morseland, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to catch this talented homegrown product.
