| Verbal Kent started the Chicago hip hop band Organic Mind Unit several years ago, and has since released a solo "Alien Rock" 12" single on Chicago's Gravel Records. He has also been featured on "The Chicago Project" CD, and performs every month at Gravel Records showcase at the Hot House (31 E. Balbo). He has performed at numerous venues around Chicago including the Metro, Abbey, Cubby Bear, and Double Door, and has opened up for such acts as KRS One, The Pharcyde, GZA of Wu Tang Clan, Bumpus, and De La Soul.
