| Year-old Chicago 4-piece has played frequently in Chicago clubs like the Metro, Double Door, Empty Bottle, Lounge Ax, Thurstons, Beat Kitchen, & the Elbo Room, and their music has been played on Q101 and WXRT. They perform guitar-pop with three-part harmonies. They plan to release their first full-length CD later this year. Formed by singer/guitarist Cory Hance and bassist Brede Hovland in January 1998. After working briefly with drummer Kevin Hoetger (Big Angry Fish), the group settled on Randy Payne (These Days, Nine Day Wonder), and then guitarist Pat McIntire. After the Cells toured in 2002 in support of their prophetic debut disc We Can Replace You, Hance recruited a new rhythm section, drummer Mark Doyle and bass player Johnny Furman. The re-vamped Cells are playing shows and working on disc #2, due summer 2004.
