| Leader Rebecca Gates moved to Chicago from Portland after the other half of the group (drummer Scott Plouf) quit to join Built to Spill. Arches and Aisles is the first post-Plouf record. Manos and Strand are their earlier recordings. Gates has already done an unusual solo tour which placed her in the middle of shopping centers around the nation and has toured with such big names as Ben Lee and Beck. Her last touring line-up included include Jerry Busher (All-Scars), Ted Leo (Chisel, Pharmacists), and Kendall Meade (Helium).
