Scotty Iseri and The Big Rock Show

Scotty Iseri was born, raised, and educated chiefly in Oregon.  From the ages of 6-12 he studied piano under several bored housewives, and played drums for marching band in high school.  Consequently, he never got laid. Prior to his recent move to Chicago, Scotty was a guitarist, singer and keyboard player with the Oregon-based bands "Freddy Newport and the Southside Six", "Why Democracy Doesn't Work" and local Alabama favorites "Republican Fundraiser."

Scotty is an accomplished theatrical sound designer and composer, whose credits include work for The Lookingglass Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Willieworks Productions, Irish Repertory, Lifeline, the Neo-Futurists, and Metropolis Arts.  His original music for Ranjit Bolt's translation of Lysistrata has been performed at Willamette University and Portland State University.  Additionally, Scotty spent time as a producer for Chicago Public Radio at the Arts desk, and composed the theme to their weekly arts radio program City on the Make.

The self-proclaimed love child of Biz Markee and Randy Newman, Scotty Iseri is at the vanguard of Post-stadium Pre-rock Half-Jap Core, and his groundbreaking act The Big Rock Show debuted in 2002, spawning his first album - "Live from the Alabama Shakespeare Festival" - recorded in performance in Montgomery Alabama and featuring such potential chart-toppers as “Scotty Goes Home Alone Ad Nauseum,” “The Audience Participation Number,” and the left-wing anthem “Jerry Falwell (The 9/11 Tribute).”

Combining clever songwriting, charming banter, and hideously lo-fi effects, The Big Rock Show has been seen at high profile Chicago venues including the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre at Navy Pier, the Neo-Futurarium, the Beat Kitchen, the Red Line Tap, and the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, as well as the infamous Dante's in Portland, Oregon, and Scotty's second cousin Larry's Bar Mitzvah.

Armed only with an acoustic guitar and staggering charisma, Scotty is currently in the studio recording his second album, an EP entitled "Because Your Girlfriend Still Loves Me,” with a slated release date of Summer 2005.
