| Megan Brady Balderston, a native of Syracuse, New York, has been with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra administrative staff since 1994. Upon joining the staff she worked as assistant to Daniel Barenboim. In January of 1996 she became project assistant to Holly Hudak, the Director of Community Programs, on two projects that were being introduced to the CSO family: the CSO's community engagement initiative, and the development of the CSO's music learning center, ECHO. She was recently named Manager of the ECHO facility, and is now responsible for the daily operations of ECHO, including hiring of Teaching Artists and staff, and recruitment of volunteers. Prior to working for the CSO, Balderston worked for the Lyric Opera of Chicago as secretary to Ardis Krainik, and as a field representative for the American Cancer Society. Originally trained as a singer, she holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University in voice. In her spare time she works as a soprano soloist and cantor for St. Vincent DePaul Church in Lincoln Park. Her volunteer interests include the Junior League of Chicago, where she has been co-chairing her provisional year project: recruiting and training docents for Urban Gateways.
