Bassist and composer Matt Geraghty has been promoting a cross-pollination of jazz concepts and global sounds in his recent projects and recordings.
Matt's new release Passport is his 3rd CD and features 10 new world-jazz originals.
The new CD was recorded in Rio De Janeiro, New York and Chicago and has contributions from 4 Grammy Award winners. "Passport" follows his two previous works "Mozaic" and "Two For the Road." This new project features grammy award winning harmonica player Howard Levy (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones) and 6-time grammy award winning drummer Paul Wertico (Pat Metheny). This CD features all new music with Indian vocalist Satya Gummuluri, Djavan's Piano player Renato Fonseca, Neal Alger (Patricia Barber-Blue note) and Brazilian guest artists Thiago Silva, Felipe Pinaud, Enrique Band.
Geraghty's talents have been showcased as a leader and a sideman in venues like the Green Mill Jazz Club in Chicago, The Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, and the Blue Room in Kansas City.
Geraghty also has been touring abroad recently in South America and Europe.
