| Seoul, South Korean-born violinist came to the United States to study at the invitation of renowned novelist Pearl S. Buck. She studied at Philidelphia's New School of Music, University of Michigan, and eventually the Julliard School. Before being appointed to the Chicago Symphony by Sir Georg Solti in 1979, she was a member of the Baltimore Symphony for two years.
