Ken Waagner, a veteran of Wax Trax! Records, radio, management, and promotion, started the label after Dali, a semi-independent subsidiary of Chameleon -- for whom he had been working -- went belly up. Waagner and Alan Kubica (who owns Chicago Recording Company) to form Hitit!, with a Molly McGuire single. Since then, the small label has released more than 20 records. 1617 N.
