Freddy Jones Band

Four years ago, with a slot on the H.O.R.D.E. tour and their Capricorn Records debut Waiting for the Night sailing the midwest charts, the Freddy Jones Band looked good as gold. Their 68-minute less-radio-savvy North Avenue Wake Up Call, though, sold less than the debut.

Their fourth record, Lucid (Capricorn) has returned them to the radio promised land (the first single "Wonder" -- accidentally shipped three weeks early -- became a hot item even before the CD was released). Recorded by David Z (Prince, Jody Watley, Fine Young Cannibals, Big Head Todd, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang), Lucid was officially released in September, 1997. The band also contributed a song to the Marshall Field's United Way benefit album, Songs To Dream By.

Members Wayne Healy, Simon Horrocks and Marty Lloyd remain in the band, but brothers Jim & Rob Bonaccorsi (bass & guitar, respectively) have left the band (to start a project known as Butterfly McQueen). The Freddy Jones Band dissolved around 1999 and sat quietly until a August 2005 benefit concert brought the band back together. After the reunion, the band booked one more concert in Chicago for the New Years celebration at Navy Pier 2006 after which they began scheduling concerts for Spring 2006 in Colorado.
