Finneus is a four piece band based in the Chicago area. Their sound runs the gamut of every popular music subgenre heard on the radio today. With a strong following of support at home, two independently released full-lengths, numerous road trips in the upper Midwest, college/specialty airplay and an award winning website, Finneus successfully continues to embrace the DIY spirit as they entertain and expand their audience.
Members of Finneus have performed/toured or recorded with among others Paris Delane (frontman of platinum recording artist Sonia Dada), LUCE, Jerry Jemmott, Betty Dylan, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Sam Cockrell and Kevon Smith (Buddy Miles Band).
Finneus’ 2006 independent release 'Superstar and the Ballerina' is a deftly performed testament to their ability to write tight, catchy arrangements spanning the genres of hard rock, soul, alt-rock, emo and americana, all with a pop sensibility. The album's briskly paced ten song, 38 minute running time is indication that this is one band that knows it’s way around a well-crafted tune. From the pile driven guitar sound of Disenchanted and Four Walls, to pop feel-gooders like Song for You and Gentle Giant, to the combat folk of Ballad of a Stupid Person to the R&B influenced Inventing Heaven, ‘Superstar’ has something for everyone. Recorded at the world class Studio Chicago, the album was co-produced with Gene Wolf (Spirit, Ides of March, R.E.O. Speedwagon, Universal Records, IEP Record Group).
Humbly describing themselves as the least connected band in Chicago, the Illinois Entertainer, Chicagoland’s most widely read music publication put it another way: "Finneus rules the undiscovered!"
