| Twenty-year-old Evanston native and Tuft’s University Student Ezra Furman will play a release show on Aug. 25th at 8:00pm @ South Union Arts Chicago in celebration of his debut release “Banging Down The Doors”, which released August 8, on Minty Fresh on indie label Minty Fresh. Ezra Furman and his band the Harpoon’s create music filled with feverishly youthful passion and conviction that appeals to music lovers of all ages; Ezra’s voice and lyrics will make you nostalgic for the days when you pined over your college crush and might make you wish that you hadn’t been afraid to sing your heart out about it. The album has had comparisons to everyone from Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, to Bob Dylan and The Violent Femmes. Ezra Furman and The Harpoon’s created a perfect blend of impassioned folk and indie-rock, which grabbed the attention of producer Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Iron & Wine). The lauded studio ace produced Ezra’s entire album, an album sure to captivate even the most cynical critic, and win the hearts of indie music lovers worldwide.
