| Odd Chicago collective debuted in 1993, and since then have drawn comparison to Negativland and Beefheart, while gradually evolving into a more conventional rock band. On their most recent LP, Indie Authenticity Crisis, there are lots of detuned guitars, skronking horns, and samples in addition to some muffled rants on a number of varied topics. Says the Chicago Reader's Monica Kendrick, "As far as I'm concerned, the real crisis in indie land is one of imagnation, and obvious influences aside, these guys transcend it with colors flying."
