| This winner of several national guitar competitions is best known as a metal thrasher, but he does has a jazz degree and plays music influenced by country, funk and rock. His band, which includes bassist Wally Hustin and Kenny Aronoff (formerly of John Mellencamp's band, S, toured with Smashing Pumpkins), though somewhat ignored here in Chicago, played several big-venue European tours each year, and signed to LA-based label Polyscope. After two albums with Relativity Records, his Polyscope debut was called Changes. Interesting note: Uhrich was scheduled to perform the national anthem at the 7th game of the 1996 NBA playoffs in front of a national TV audience. Unfortunately (for him) the Bulls took the series in six. Dave currently leads Five Nickel High with the former members of C4.
