| Canasta is from (where else?) Chicago and formed in early 2002. They are one of the many bands around town that are working hard paying their dues in the rock music scene. They started out with three members, but have now grown to six. The players range from horns, drums, guitar, violin, piano and keyboards to bring you the kind of music that fills up venues such as the Subterranean, Empty Bottle, Bottom Lounge, and The Metro, among others. The music is upbeat with hint of twang and country, but seems to be mostly based in the pop-rock area. Either way, it's just fun.
