This six-person band headed by Chicago folk/blues legend is making a name for itself fusing blues and classical music. In addition to Corky Siegel's wry, kitschy humor, the group includes talented blues and classical music veterans -- a traditional string quartet and Frank Donaldson's tabla/percussion. New York Newsday heralds their "irresistable new sound." Rolling Stone says "they knock everybody flat." The Arizona Republic calls it "outrageous fun"; and the Chicago Tribune calls it a "resounding triumph."
Chicago Reader critic Neil Tesser says, "picture Walter Horton, Mozart, and Ravi Shankar eating off the same plate. We're a long way from the Delta, baby."
The group's second release, Contemporary Colors, is on Gadfly Records.
