Every night is Mardi Gras at Redfish-save for the flashing, parading and underage drinking. There are only 2 locations of this seafood bar and grill (the other is in Arizona), but the restaurant feels about as local as your neighborhood Applebee's. Bawdy decorations including hot sauce bottles, product signage and seething fish hang from the walls. And while you may not have to pull any deviant acts for them, strands of beads are laid out at every table.
The Cajun-infused menu offers staple New Orleans dishes such as Bourbon Street jambalaya, crawfish etouffee and, of course, blackened redfish. The restaurant claims that "your taste buds will do a Cajun jitterbug," but the food here is just as cookie-cutter as the atmosphere. The real charm to Redfish is its "over the top" happy hour (3-7 p.m. and 10 p.m.-close daily). Take advantage of discounted draft beers and $4 specialty drinks like sangria (red or white), the Big Easy margarita and Fall Off the Porch iced tea. And while you're at it, check out the list of $4 appetizers including fried green tomatoes, southern blackened burgers and catfish bites. Wednesday through Saturday, the attached Voodoo lounge hosts local jazz and blues bands to give the place that New Orleans vibe. If the entertainment isn't enough to reel you in to this seafood spot, just think of how many beads you can score after enough $3 Long Islands.
