Although the pub part of Miller's Pub is always well-populated, Miller's is more famously known as a restaurant. Established in 1935 but bought by the Gallios brothers in 1950, a famed crowd (Jimmy Durante, Harry Caray) swung by in addition to loyal regulars, leaving no doubt as to why this fabulous Chicago establishment remains a favorite to those who know where to eat in the city.

Known for its barbecue ribs and steaks (as well as for being one of the few in-the-Loop spots where you can get a good meal until 2 a.m.), Miller's also has a wide variety of tasty Italian dishes that are equally as good. Portions are large and rather inexpensive for downtown ($10-$20 a plate), so you can afford to splurge on an appetizer (be sure to try the fried calamari...it's among the best in town).

Miller's Pub has a lot of history...most of it hanging on the walls. Every square inch of wallspace is covered with autographed photos of nearly every celebrity and sports figure who has ever passed through the Windy City. Perhaps Miller's is so great because it embodies the spirit of Chicago; there may be fancier restaurants, but Miller's dispenses with the frivolities and offers an honest atmosphere, friendly service and a great meal for a reasonable price.
